This privacy policy explains how kennel Vun Attilbrigga ('we', 'us') collects and uses personal data through this website (cairnterrier.lu). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Luxembourg law.

1. Who We Are

Kennel Vun Attilbrigga is a private FCL-registered Cairn Terrier kennel based in Luxembourg. Contact: hello@cairnterrier.lu

2. Data We Collect

We collect personal data in three places: the contact form (your name, email address, the subject and content of your message), the vet directory (see "Community submissions & reviews"), and, if you buy a puppy from us, your owner page (see section 9).

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising networks, or analytics services that process personal data.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to respond to your enquiry. Specifically:

• To reply to your message via email
• To maintain a record of correspondence for follow-up

We will never sell, share, or use your data for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

4. Legal Basis

Contact form and vet directory: processing is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given when you submit; you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us. Owner pages: processing is needed for the purchase of your puppy and its aftercare (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

5. Data Storage

Your data is stored in a secure database run by Turso in its EU region (Ireland). Turso is a US company; any access from outside the EU is covered by standard contractual clauses. Emails from this site, including owner-page login codes, are sent through Resend. Contact-form messages are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted. Owner-page data is kept as described in section 9. Photos and documents that owners share on their owner page are stored in a private file store run by Vercel in its EU region (Frankfurt). Vercel is a US company; any access from outside the EU is covered by standard contractual clauses.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing
• Lodge a complaint with the Luxembourg data protection authority (CNPD)

7. Cookies

This website uses one functional cookie to remember your cookie consent preference; it contains no personal data and expires after 12 months. Puppy owners who log in to their owner page also get the three cookies described in section 9, which are needed for logging in. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

9. Owner pages

If you buy a puppy from us, we can give you a private page for it. To let you log in we store your email address and the time of your last login. One-time login codes are kept only as a scrambled value (hash) that cannot be turned back into the code; they are sent by email through our mail service (Resend). Only you, anyone you and we agreed to add, and the breeder can see the page. The data is kept in the same EU database as the rest of this site. Login codes are deleted after one day and expired logins when they end. Your address stays until we remove it from your puppy's page; you can ask us to do so at any time. No outside login service is used. In addition to the cookie described in section 7, owner pages use three cookies: one keeps you logged in for 30 days (it holds a random value, not your email address), one remembers your chosen language for 30 days, and during login a short-lived cookie holds the email address you typed for up to 15 minutes. On the page you and the breeder can exchange messages and photos. We store the text, the photos, who wrote each message and when, and whether you allowed the photos to be shown on this website. Your browser removes the location data from a photo before it is sent. You can also upload documents about your puppy, such as vaccination, vet, health-test, worm-test, insurance or registration papers, as a PDF or as a photo of the paper. We store the file, the kind of document you chose, the date and note you add, who uploaded it and when. A PDF is stored exactly as you upload it, including any information the file itself carries (for example the program that made it); your browser removes the location data from a photo of a paper before it is sent. Only the people on your puppy's page and the breeder can open documents. Each upload also appears as a line in your messages, and the breeder receives the same mail notice as for a message; it names the kind of document but never contains the file. Only the people on your puppy's page and the breeder can see messages and photos. Mail notifications contain the message text and a link to the page, never photos; replies from the breeder come from hello@cairnterrier.lu, and if you answer by mail, your mail goes to the breeder's mailbox. A photo is shown on this website only if you ticked "You may show these photos on cairnterrier.lu" on that message and the breeder then chooses it; a published copy stays on the dog's public page until you ask us to remove it. Other people on your puppy's page see your messages marked "Owner", not your email address. To prevent misuse we note the time of each message you send together with a scrambled value (hash) of your email address, never the address itself, for about one to two days. Messages, photos and documents are kept until you or the breeder delete them; you can delete your own messages and documents at any time, or ask us to delete everything.

Community submissions & reviews

The vet & practitioner directory lets visitors suggest a listing and leave reviews. This involves some personal data, processed on the basis of your consent, given when you submit.

• Suggesting a vet: we collect the listing details and your email address. Your email is used only to contact you about the submission and is never shown publicly.
• Leaving a review: we collect your star rating, your review text, an optional display name, and your email address. Your rating, text and display name are published once approved; your email stays private and is never published.
• Moderation: reviews are checked before publication. We may decline or remove any submission or review.
• Retention: submission and review data is kept while the listing is published; private email addresses are deleted on request or when no longer needed.
• Your rights: you may withdraw consent and request correction or deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@cairnterrier.lu.
• Processors: email notifications are sent via Resend; data is stored in our Turso database. We process data within the EU/EEA where possible. If you tap 'Find more vets nearby', your approximate location is sent to OpenStreetMap (Overpass) to look up nearby practices.
